Supersessionism is the cause of antisemitism

Why have Jewish people been subjected to persecution, ethnic cleansing, rape, and genocide from non-Jews for 1800 years? Note that such persecution has not come from non-Jews such as Hindus, Confucianists, Buddhists, Taoists, or adherents of other such religions.

Rather, this persecution has come only from religions based on supersessionism: Christianity, Islam, and the newer supersessionist faiths, e.g. Black Hebrew Israelites, Christian Identity, and Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam.

Unfortunately, most Hebrew schools today no longer teach our own children about what antisemitism is or where it comes from, so it falls upon us to help improve education about this in our local Jewish communities.

Supersessionism is the religious belief that some new prophet has chosen some new group to take the Bible and covenant of the Jews for themselves. Every religion based on supersessionism has antisemitism at the core:

Christian supersessionism is the theology that the Bible was always true, but that God supposedly sent a New Testament to add to it. In this belief, Christians have superseded the Jews and the nation of Israel; Christians are now God’s only covenanted people; Jews killed God; Jews are followers of Satan (that is literally in the New Testament); all Jews must convert to Christianity, or we are doomed to burn in Hell. This is Christian supersessionism.

Islamic supersessionism is the theology that the Bible was always true, but Muslims add on to this new beliefs: Mohammed supposedly proved that the Bible was damaged on purpose by “the rabbis,” and thus he “fixed” it with a new version, the Quran. Muslims now believe that the Quan supersedes the Bible, the Muslims took the mantle of the Jews, and they hold that all mankind must submit to Allah. This is Islamic supersessionism.

Black Hebrew Israelite (BHI) supersessionism is the theology that all actual Jewish people are “imposters” – and that black Africans are somehow the true Israelites. Historically we must recognize that the first BHI groups were not antisemitic; this movement originated at the end of the 19th century when Frank Cherry and William Saunders Crowdy claimed to receive prophetic visions that African Americans are also descendants of the Hebrews in the Bible. Historians consider them erroneous, but not antisemitic. However, over the last century BHI has splintered into a large number of small groups, many of which developed the newer idea that all actual Jews are imposters. Many of these BHI groups now teach that they are chosen by God; many promote violence aagainst Jews.

Christian Identity supersessionism is the theology that the Bible was always true, but that white English Christians are the true descendants of the Israelites. This movement is an offshoot of British Israelism,

a British nationalist, pseudo-archaeological, pseudo-historical belief that the people of Great Britain are “genetically, racially, and linguistically the direct descendants” of the Ten Lost Tribes of ancient Israel. (Wikipedia)

Over the last century Christian Identity has splintered into a large number of small groups, most of which now promote violent antisemitism. In the USA many of them are allied with the Nazi party.
